Dear friends and supporters, Thank you for your support and for praying for us. This is a short update on the start of our year. Catching up: We have had a great start with many students signing up for our morning courses, and a good number for our evenings in Soweto. Please pray for us as we teach significantly larger classes this year, and for students to 'arrive on time, work hard and ask questions'. We are rejoicing in how keen the students are to learn, and are again very aware of the tough circumstances many of our students are in. The staff are working very hard, please pray for grace and perseverance - especially as we were hit by lightning and are having to replace almost all the college's electronic systems. The ♯FeesMustFall campaign on university campuses delayed the start of our year with the Student Christian Organisation (SCO), but we are up and running on two campuses now. Our Cosmo City campus has started well, as has our diploma courses. The work in the informal settlement, Zandspruit Bible School, will start up after Easter. Please pray for Mohai as he takes on a greater role there. We are encouraged that our sister college Institute of Bible Teaching, Bulawayo has also started its classes for 2016. Looking Forward:
We are close to completing the Soweto Campus purchase of an old church building. Please pray this would go to completion, and we would then be able to upgrade the property to serve the local churches as a fully operational college. Please pray for our architect putting together a plan to last us well into the future. We are exploring accreditation with the Skills Education Training Authority (SETA). Please pray for wisdom as we go forward, and for us to make the most of this opportunity. There is a new professional body created - the Association for Christian Religious Practitioners, who have been mandated by the government to oversee the courses and their implementation. Please join us in thanks and praise. Yours in Christ, The JBC staff team
