Dear friends,
We are mourning the loss of Bishop Ngubane who went to be with the Lord. He had been taken into hospital on June 16th after suffering a stroke. He suffered several strokes in the days that followed, and went to be with Jesus at 9pm Sunday 29th June. He was a faithful supporter of JBC - both as a board member and occasional lecturer. He was also a great personal friend of some of the staff, including our principal Nat Schluter. Our hearts are filled with thanks to the Lord for raising up Edwin, with his passion for the lost and keen grasp of God's word. He was continually serving the Lord and his people as a REACH SA bishop, the rector of Christ Church Hilbrow, and in many other capacities. His humility and servant heart, as well as his relentless hard work were a testimony to his faith, and for this faith we praise our Lord. We pray for Edwin's family - his wife Genevieve, and children Stephanie and Langa. We pray the Lord may comfort and strengthen them, and that they would know his grace. We are collecting memories of Edwin - stories and photos and similar - for the children. If you have any memories we could include, please email them to info@jbc.org.za or helen@schluter.info. Yours in Christ, The JBC team There is a fuller account of his life here: http://sydneyanglicans.net/blogs/graceflow/rescued-from-hell-in-hillbrow http://sydneyanglicans.net/blogs/graceflow/forever-with-the-lord |
